Massages for Chronic Pain

One of the most common questions we get from clients is which massages are for chronic pain?

Which is why we have created this post, below are five massages for chronic pain:

Aromatherapy massage is a holistic healing treatment that uses essential oils from natural plant extracts which can inhaled or absorbed through the skin.  This particular massage uses aromatic essential oils medicinally to improve the health of our body, mind, and spirit.

  1. Reduce symptoms of  stress, anxiety and depression
  2. Boosts energy levels
  3. Pain relief
  4. Boost to immune system

Deep Tissue Massage

A deep tissue massage focuses on releasing tension and tightness of the muscles and connective tissues. The deep tissue massage involves the massage therapist using intense pressure which will manipulate deep layers to treat musculoskeletal issues.

  2. Promotes healing
  3. Increased blood flow

Myofascial Release Massage

A fascia is a band of connective tissue beneath the skin that stabilises muscles and organs. A myofascial release massage consists of deep kneading and stretching of the fascia and muscles to release tension and tightness. This particular massage is often combined with other massage techniques.

Sports Massage

Trigger points are painful “knots” hard, palpable nodules that can form in muscles. They are sore or painful when pressed. Trigger points develop when a muscle is unable to relax, A trigger point massage involves putting direct pressure to release these “knot”.
