WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY?
Reflexology is a system of massage used to relieve tension and treat illness, based on the theory that there are reflex points on the feet, hands, and head linked to every part of the body. The modality incorporates massage and acupressure when working on reflex points. The reflex areas correspond to all the parts of the body and these areas are arranged in such a way as to form a map of the body. Thus, the method offers a means of treating the whole body and of treating the body as a whole. After all, The Whole is Greater than the Sum of its Parts.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A REFLEXOLOGY SESSION?
The first visit to our Brighton reflexologist Barbara will generally take about 15 minutes longer than subsequent treatments. The reflexologist will take detailed notes about your lifestyle before looking at your feet, and then she will make notes on the colour, look and feel of your feet. Barbara will then work the entire area of both feet hands, ears and face.
