WHAT IS SPORTS MASSAGE?Sports massage Brighton

Sports massage is a type of massage therapy which involves manipulation of soft tissue and is geared toward people involved in physical and sports activities or physically demanding jobs to help prevent or treat injuries, relieve tension and restore range of movement. Sports massage can also be highly effective in terms of balancing muscles and improving posture. Postural stress can indeed produce similar characteristics than sports injuries, making sports massage an ideal treatment type.

The idea of sports massage is to apply different massage techniques to achieve a specific goal when treating a client/athlete. Each treatment case is designed according to the specific needs of each individual with varying depths and strengths. Sports massage tends to be more intense than for example Swedish massage, even though it incorporates many similar elements. The main difference is the combination of other techniques involving stretching, compression, friction, and trigger point therapy techniques. Read more

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SPORTS MASSAGE?

Sports massage is particularly good at relieving muscle tension, reducing soreness and fastening recovery. This is because it aims to increase blood flow and stimulate neurological pathways, which can also increase flexibility and improve strength. Especially if you’re training intensively, frequent sports massage at Brighton Wellbeing can help you keep your muscles supple and strong. The aim is also to incorporate stretching and home-care exercise to ease postural problems. We can create a full treatment plan for you to follow in terms of recovery as we offer loyalty cards for patients who wish to continue treatment in the future. Read more

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY:

  • Best massage in BrightonAnnika H

The massage I received at Brighton Wellbeing was easily the best massage I've ever had! Barbara used so many different massage techniques, I've never experienced anything like it before. Not only does Barbara understand you holistically, but she is also ridiculously strong! I've always wanted to experience a proper professional sports massage, and this is definitely what I got. Barbara also worked on my neck which had been stiff for a long time, and after the neck massage I haven't had issues.

If you're looking for a professional massage therapist in Brighton, you should definitely book with Barbara at the Brighton Wellbeing clinic.

  • Perfect for relaxing and injuriesSaul G

I went to Barabara because I have elbow and back problems. She knew just what to do and manipulated my muscles in a way that suited me. She was really strong and made sure the pressure was ok. I felt very relaxed, comfortable and really enjoyed it.

  • Best massage therapy in BrightonRosy

Barabara at Brighton Wellbeing was recommended to me by a friend for problems with back pain, tight hips and locked up spine. She is very knowledgeable about physiology, and was extremely detailed our discussions about my back pain and in the massage itself. I go for the full 1hr30 min treatment – in hard times it can feel like an expense, but it really does make a difference, she's just amazing and it really helps my back!

  • Excellent personalised massage therapiesiona550

Brighton Wellbeing is centrally located, just off London Road, which makes it very convenient to reach. Step inside and you will find a cozy reception and softly lit, tranquil treatment room, with warm, smiley Barbara waiting to meet you. After interviewing you about your particular problem, she personalises a massage to focus on exactly what you need. I have tried a number of Barbara's extensive range of massage treatments, according to what I require at that moment, and each has been excellent. I would highly recommend Brighton Wellbeing, if you have a chronic problem, or just fancy treating yourself. You will also find prices are less than other places in Brighton.

  • Expert friendly serviceSarah J

Barbara is an exceptional masseuse. She has shown far more interest in my hip and neck pain than my GP, and her massages have been significantly more effective than my visits to the osteopath, chairopractor and acupuncturist. I feel very relaxed with Barbara and feel that she retains a good knowledge of my body between visits. She often ends sessions by suggesting useful stretches and exercises, which I very much appreciate. Barbara’s place is clean, quiet and very central. I couldn’t recommend Brighton Well-being highly enough.

  • Amazing treatmentJoEager

Recently I went to see Barbara about my injured ankle which she cured after only two massages. She is so knowledgable and treated my problem holistically which makes so much sense. I can honestly say that her massage is by far the best when I compare it to other osteopathy and physiotherapy treatments that I've had in the past.

  • Back pain treatmentChristine

had a wonderful treatment today from Babsie at the Wellbeing center, relieving my back pain injury, it feels so good to trust such skillful therapist xx

  • Great for sports injuryMolly

I've had a old hamstring injury that flared up in the cold weather - Barbara not only got to the root of the pain but also helped me understand the exact start of the pain, the niggling points to target at home and also helped with some lower back pain that had started from using my back to over compensate for my legs when lifting. Fantastic massage and really lovely atmosphere at studio, I definitely recommend Barbara!

  • Effective and ProfessionalPaul

Thanks Barbara Palloni for a good deep massage using a variety of techniques to ease and relax a couple of well set-in sports injuries. Effective and professional therapy.

  • Best massage everEllen

Probably the best massage ever. Felt she quickly addressed what my body needed and used appropriate pressure to release as required. Brilliant
